Information
Visas,
tourist cards, vaccinations certificates, and passports are
the TRAVELER'S RESPONSIBILITY!
RESERVATIONS:
Visit your travel agent or call us direct at 1-800-238-2489;
choose your tour and make your arrangements early. A deposit
of $100.00 per person
is required within 10 DAYS of confirmation. Final tour payment
is due 45 days before
departure.
LAND
CANCELLATION POLICY: When
written notice is received, the following fees apply: Up to
45 days before departure $100.00
per reservation; 44 to 21 days
before departure $100.00 per person; Within
20 days before departure $150.00 per person PLUS any
applicable supplier fees. When cruises are involved, please
consult at time of booking.
PASSPORT
& HEALTH DOCUMENTS: A
valid passport is required for all U.S. citizens and should
be valid for at least 6 months, after return date to the United
States. In addition, U.S. citizens require visas for travel
to Brazil and a tourist card for Colombia. Also, check with
your physician or local health service for any recommended
immunizations.
REFUND
POLICY: Refunds for missing
occassional sightseeing or meals cannot be granted. If you
leave any tour at any time, check with your local representative
or tour manager on what to do. Refund claims must be received
in writing in our office no later than 30 days after completion
of the tour.
TOUR
PRICES: Prices are based on tariffs
and prevailing exchange
rates at time of booking; consequently, they're subject
to fluctuations, fuel surcharges, tax increases and/or union
settlements.
SIGHTSEEING:
As outlined in the itineraries with
English speaking guides. We reserve the right to substitute
or change sightseeing and itineraries as local events, holidays,
and/or unforeseen closure of attractions demand.
MEALS:
Only meals specified in the itineraries
indicated (B, L, and D) are included in the tour price. Continental
or Brazilian breakfasts are included daily in every tour,
where mentioned.
BAGGAGE:
On economy class flights you are permitted
to check (2) bags per person where the overall dimensions
must not exceed 106 inches, provided no bag exceeds 62 inches.
(1) flight bag may also be carried, but must remain in the
possession of the passenger at all times, may not exceed total
dimensions of 45 inches, and must fit under the airline seat.
Within South America an allowance of 44 lbs. (20 kilos) economy
class is allowed free of charge. Tips to porters are included
for (2) pieces of luggage per person at airports and hotels.
TIPS
& TAXES: Local
hotel taxes & gratuities to hotel staff are included.
Gratuities to motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are optional
and on a voluntary basis.
AIRFARES
& RESTRICTIONS: Total itinerary
fares are included, unless specifically mentioned as "LAND
ONLY" price. All airfares used are in effect at time
of booking and subject to change in accordance with government
regulations.
PROGRAMS:
Southern Capitals and Lake Crossing
programs require 14 days advance purchase and ticketing. Fares
are valid for 3 to 60 days and carry a $100 cancellation charge
once ticket is issued.
Southern
Triangle, Southern Highlights, and Patagonian Expedition require
a 21 day advance purchase and ticketing. Fares are valid from
7 to 21 days and carry a $100 cancellation charge once ticket
is issued.
AIR
TRANSPORTATION: Tour members
will travel ONLY via regular scheduled IATA carrier. The services
of any IATA and ARC carrier may be used in the performance
of these tours.
AIRPORT
TAXES: Foreign
airport departure taxes are not included and must be paid
locally. the following is an appropriate amount and subject
to change: Argentina $14; Brazil $36;
Chile $13; Peru $14; Colombia $15; Ecuador $25; Venezuela
$18; and Costa Rica $14.
CHILDREN:
Children under 8 years of age
can not be accepted on certain programs. Please consult at
time of booking. Children between 8 and 11 years will receive
a 10% discount on the land portion of the tour when sharing
the room with 2 parents. All children under 18 years of age
must be accompanied by parents or guardians.
PRICES:
All prices are per person based
upon double occupancy. For passengers travelling alone, a
'per person' supplement is published. Single rooms and single
cabins are limited and on a request basis only.
NOT
INCLUDED: Any item of a purely
personal nature, foreign airport departure taxes, Galapagos
Park tax, National park fees not mentioned, optional excursions,
excess baggage charges, cost of visas, passports, tourist
cards, laundry, telephone calls and any other item not specifically
noted as "included in tour price".
CHANGES:
An administrative fee of $50 per person
will be charged per change after reservation is confirmed,
unless otherwise mentioned.
TRAVEL
DOCUMENTS: Will be mailed approximately
21 days prior to departure. No documents will be mailed before
receipt of final payment. In the event that documents must
be sent by special courier, we reserve the right to charge
this expense.
AIRLINE
CLAUSE: The airlines concerned
are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event
during the time you are not aboard the aircraft. The passage
contract in use by the airlines, when issued, constitutes
the sole agreement between it and you.
VALIDITY:
August 1, 1999 to June 30, 2000, unless
otherwise stated.
